It's Right in Front of You

The obscure we see eventually.  The completely obvious, it seems, takes longer.
~Edward R. Murrow

In the pursuit of what we want, we can miss what is just next to us.  We create and hold onto notions of what we could have, should want and what will make us successful.  The could's, should's, and will's are critical to individual advancement and evolution.  But success and joy are not the same animal.  The people and experiences of day to day life are what complete and define us.  Every day we pass by the toaster in the kitchen but do not acknowledge it, it is part of the scenery.  The day that the toaster is missing is the day that we notice and lament it's loss.  It is not that most people do not find happiness, it is that most do not take the time to recognize and celebrate it.  Hidden in plain sight? Absolutely!
