Recognize and be aware of your desires, emotions and surroundings. These things influence you but do not let them define or control you. For if they do and they one day change or disappear- who are you then? To be able to still the mind, to think clearly, and to make sound decisions is an acquired skill. Act with forethought and intention. This self mastery is a daily assertion where some days we are successful and other days not so successful, this is the practice. He who controls others can build the boat. He who knows and has mastered himself can set the course and sail.
