When the winds of change blow, some people build walls and others build windmills. ~Chinese Proverb
How do you react to change? Do you run and hide, dig in and hope that it blows over, embrace it and let it surround you or use it as a means of taking flight? We are creatures of habit that become comfortable in our daily routine. Change represents the different, the unknown. But different does not mean wrong and the unknown does not have to be intimidating. Change can be like new shoes; kind of tight and uncomfortable at first, making us unsteady so we move a bit slower. Soon we become accustomed to the new sense of balance and lose our hesitation. Embrace change. Without change there would be no progress or growth. Most of the time it is not THINGS that are changing at all, it is YOU that is changing. We live in the same place, eat the same foods, and interact with the same people, yet most of us desire change. According to Einstein (or Franklin depending on where you read it) the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. If you desire change then you must get outside your routine. Next time you start to feel the winds of change, spread you wings and soar.
