Modern technology makes the world seem smaller.   We have knowledge of more cultures, foods and ways of doing things than ever before.  That knowledge creates choices and with the expanded selections we are quick to change.  We change careers, hair styles, even where we live.  As we are enamored with the new, there is a very important old that we should not lose sight of.  The old friend.  Those people that have proven over time that they love and support you.  Those individuals who are there for you no matter the length of time or need.  For some strange reason as you both have grown and amidst all of the changing- you remain close.  Celebrate that friendship.  An old friend is a gift that took a long time to create.
