Lose the Fist

The first step to bridging a gap is acknowledging the distance you must travel to get there.  You have made up your mind, but are you physically ready?  To shake hands it is necessary to relax, uncurl your fingers and expose your palm.  This can be uncomfortable.  Even more so when the hand has been closed for a long period of time.  Once opened, the hand quickly remembers how to function and the motion becomes easier through repetition.  Communicate effectively.  Let go of the tension, lose the fist.
