Happiness is not a state to arrive at, but a manner of traveling. ~Margaret Runbeck
You want to be happy. You deserve to be happy. You CAN be happy. Happiness is a state of mind, a calm, a peacefulness, contentment. It is the absence of wanting. It is not the promotion, it is not the new handbag, it is not running the mile within that time frame. Happiness is the state that you enter when you obtain those goals because the need for that goal has been eliminated. You no longer desire that thing. With the desire gone, you are able to truly be in the moment. You catch a glimpse of the joy that exists in you. Do not let that joy be fleeting. Happiness can be all too quickly overshadowed when a new need arises. Do not define your self or your capacity to experience happiness by the material or tangible. There will always be something bigger and better over the horizon. You have the ability to tap into your sense of joy any time you choose. Embrace that happiness and keep it close. As a manner of traveling, use it as the compass for your journey in life, not as a stopping point on the map.
