When a child is acting out and at his worst, yelling and scolding will just make him dig his heels in deeper. Approaching with a calm voice and offering an alternative will get his attention. Giving a hug and a smile will calm him. Adults are no different from children. The only way to resolve escalated and hurtful situations is with an even temper and a solution focused mind. No matter the situation, act from a place of love.
