No matter how long it's been since you've ridden a bicycle, you just get back on and go. It may take a minute or two to rebalance. You may not be able to ride quite as far or with the intensity that you once did, but ride you do. It is not the mind figuring out how, it is the muscles of the body remembering how. Neither is courage a function of the mind. It, like balance, is something that comes from within. It is always there with you. You may not have used it in a while, you may have misplaced your 'why' but the body never forgets 'how". If you want to build your courage up, go exercise it.
