Look Authentically

You must look into other people as well as at them.  ~Lord Chesterton

You interact with many people throughout the course of a day.  Take the time to listen to and observe these interactions.  What is being said to you with words?  What is being said to you without words?  To take moments at face value will inhibit you from the benefit of the big picture.  Behind the scenes is where the treasure lies.  Delve a little deeper into a conversation.  You may discover that you have many common interests with that casual acquaintance.  You may also find that when stepping outside the routine topics of conversation with a good friend, you have nothing else to talk about.  How can you be surrounded with like minded individuals if you do not truly know what makes those people tic?  To understand those around you, you must listen AND observe.  When you take the time to authentically look into others you will gift them with the ability to truly see you as well.
