To climb steep hills requires a slow pace at first. ~Shakespeare
Set off on your path with intention. Realize that it may be slow going at first especially if your path has a steep incline. If you tried to run uphill at 100 miles per hour you are only able to do one of two things: watch your feet or watch the summit. Watching your feet will keep you from stumbling but you will not be able to monitor what direction you are going. Who knows where you will end up? If you keep your gaze on the end goal, you will head in the right direction. However, you will be unable to anticipate and react to the rocks, holes and uneven ground along the way. This will result in quite a lot of falling down, bumps and bruises. To start out with a slower pace will enable you to alternate between the going and the goal. Monitor your progress. Keep an eye out for rocky terrain and reevaluate the path as you go. When you arrive at the peak the achievement will be much more appreciated for having experienced the journey.
